Braun & Gresham, PLLC announced today that senior attorney and counselor, Allison Elder will be leaving the firm on June 3rd to join the Texas Agricultural Land Trust (TALT) staff in September as Vice-President & General Counsel. After more than 7 years at the rural land advocacy law firm, Allison will now be serving as the TALT’s in-house counsel and overseeing the organization’s internal operations.
Founded in 2007, TALT is a non-profit 501c3 that works statewide to conserve Texas’ unique heritage of private lands stewardship. As a law firm that advocates exclusively for owners of rural land, Braun & Gresham often works with organizations like TALT to further the interests of landowners. The firm is looking forward to continuing our work with Allison and expanding our work with TALT now that we have even more in common.

Prior to joining TALT, Allison’s practice at Braun & Gresham included drafting, negotiating, and securing conservation easement sales and donations, as well as estate planning, mitigation banking, and conservation real estate services. Allison also helped develop and oversee the risk management practice for the firm, guiding landowners on the judicious use of a variety of tools designed to reduce the risk of owning rural land, including the use of business entities, statutory protections, and comprehensive leases and waivers.
“Over the past seven years at Braun & Gresham, I was able to develop my conservation practice and knowledge of the law,” said Allison. “I am honored to join the staff at TALT, and I look forward to applying my passion and experience to advance conservation in Texas for years to come.”
Allison holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, both from The University of Texas. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Conservation Society, and previously served as the President of the Land Heritage Institute Foundation. Allison and her husband, Steve, live in San Antonio and have four children.
